The Work we do
Legacy gifts fund over one third of our life-saving research
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to leave a gift to Cancer Research UK?
There is no obligation to leave a gift to Cancer Research UK or any other charity in your will, however we are incredibly grateful for any gifts that are left to us, and these help us ensure that we can continue to fund life-saving research for decades to come.
What type of gift can I leave?
A share of your estate or Residuary gift – this type of gift is most beneficial because it’s a percentage of your estate, rather than a fixed amount. This means it will retain its value and won’t be affected by inflation.
A specific amount of money or ‘cash gift’ also known as Pecuniary Gift.
A specific sum of money which is linked to the index of retail price or Index-linked Pecuniary. This means any amount pledged would keep its value in line with any possible inflation increases.
A Specific Gift is something specific like jewellery, art, stocks and shares, or a property.
